Mount Batten Ferry Terms and Conditions
Using the Mount Batten Ferry Service and booking via The Mount Batten Ferry Service, indicates acceptance of the following terms and conditions:
Payment, Concessions and Special Offers:
- Ferry crossings are paid for at the point of boarding, preferably by contactless payment.
- All Ferry fares are for single crossings only. No return fares will be taken.
- All current fares will be advertised on the website at https://www.mountbattenferry.co.uk and local notice boards.
- All concession cards are non-transferable and for use by the purchaser only. They can only be used as single crossings, as specified on the cards.
- Concession cards will be sold with minimum validity of 6 months, their expiry date is clearly marked on them.
- Large bookings need to be made directly with the office via email. universalmarineuk@gmail.com
- We may run special offers from time to time, and these will be advertised on our website. We reserve the right to cancel, vary or remove these offers at any time at our discretion. Special Offers will only apply on the day of the ticket purchase and cannot be purchased in advance or held over for use at future dates.
Passenger Conduct:
- We recommend that customers arrive in good time for the ferry and approximately 20mins before the crossing time they require. This is particularly important during busy periods, during school holidays and event days, when the Ferry service is extremely busy. We cannot guarantee to carry you on a particular crossing.
- Crossings generally depart promptly as advertised. We do not accept any responsibility for customers arriving at the locked ferry gate after the advertised crossing time.
- Passengers and Customers will be treated with respect by our Skipper and Crew; we expect the same conduct from passengers. Abusive, aggressive or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated, towards crew or other passengers. In such cases we reserve the right to forbid boarding.
- If a passenger is asked to disembark the Ferry once boarded, due to conduct breaches of these terms and conditions, this may involve a return to the nearest landing stage, which is not necessarily the destination landing. In such an event, the fare may be forfeit and non-refundable, with no liability accepted for ongoing incurred expenses for alternative travel.
- Parents/Guardians/Carers must always keep their children /dependants under their supervision. This includes not allowing them to run around the boat or stand on the seats.
- All instructions given by Crew must be followed.
- Well behaved dogs are permitted on a lead. They must always be under the control of their owner or custodian.
- We reserve the right to forbid boarding to any dog which in the opinion of the crew or Skipper, is exhibiting aggressive behaviour or behaviour likely to cause other passengers fear or upset.
- All personal belongings must always be kept with the owner; Mount Batten Ferry will not accept any liability for loss, theft or damage whilst onboard.
- No illegal drugs are to be brought onboard the Ferry, either in passenger baggage or on passenger person. We will report any activity we believe to be illegal to the Police.
- We reserve the right to forbid boarding to any person or group we reasonably believe to be under the influence of legal or illegal substances including excessive alcohol.
Crossing Changes and Cancellations:
- We endeavour to run as closely as possible to the advertised crossing times, but during busy periods or multi-trips then we will operate as quickly as is safely possible. The weather may affect our scheduled times.
- In case of inclement weather conditions, cancelling a crossing or ferry service may be unavoidable, to preserve the safety of passengers and crew.
- Mount Batten Ferry reserves the right to cancel any trip or change vessel if required for reasons beyond their control and will not be liable for any expenses incurred by passengers arising from any substitution or cancellation.
- All crossings are under the control of the skipper and crew. If for any reason the service is cancelled or modified for safety reasons, then this decision is final and is to be adhered to by all passengers.
- All contact regarding scheduled times, especially during inclement weather periods, should be made by telephone direct to the duty skipper, on +447930838614 for real time information.
General:
- All our vessels meet MCA and local license standards.
- All prices are VAT exempt and subject to change at any time. Please check the website https://www.mountbattenferry.co.uk for current information on crossings and charges.
- Whilst every effort is made to ensure the website is current, sudden and unexpected events may take time to refer to the web team and upload to the site. In which case, Mount Batten Ferry staff will do their best to assist you with information
